Friends and Heroes - Lesson Plans
A warm welcome to all teachers! You have arrived at the Friends and Heroes School Curriculum Download page. Click to bookmark this page now! If you are looking for lessons to use in children's ministry please see www.friendsandheroes.com/biblelessons.

Lesson Plans and Pupil Worksheets
Friends and Heroes is high quality, visual and exciting with some great lesson plans and pupil worksheets, created in association with the RE experts at The Stapleford Centre, which allow the children to discuss issues raised in the programmes. These lessons complement the national syllabus guidelines for ages 7-11 (Key Stage 2) throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland and Isle of Man and also include SEAL and PSHE links!

"It is brilliant to see God's word (both Old & New Testament) being portrayed to children in a 'high quality' medium and with difficult sections so eloquently handled. Well done!" MM

"As well as being head, I teach yr 4/5, and the kids love it. Miss a week and they are moaning.  We don’t always use the worksheets but they are an excellent resource as are the lesson plans. These have generated some great class discussions." KdJ

Teachers may also find much of the material on our children's website to be extremely useful in the classroom.

These free lessons are provided in Adobe's PDF format and you will need to install the free Adobe Reader software (Version 8.0 or later) to view and print them. You can download Adobe Reader here:

Teachers, encourage your children to continue learning...
We have created a special page for teachers to print which provides 'business-card' sized invitations for children to visit our children's website. There is so much more for children to do after a lesson when they go to our website - including reading or listening to many of the Bible stories in Friends and Heroes!

The file can be printed on any white card but will also work with the special Business Card perforated sheets which you can purchase at most stationers. You can download a copy here:

"I am a school teacher and a mum. My own children have loved them and watch them over and over. Their knowledge of bible stories is amazing - my six year old surprises me with his recall and it is because of the context of the DVDs. In school my class of six year olds enjoyed them so much they would ask every day when we would be watching the next episode and they were a regular feature during RE lessons and even snack time. They proved so popular that the school have subscribed." MM
